Virginia Mohler, New York City, received $30,000 to support the production of Radium Girls, a narrative feature based on a true story set in 1927, that follows the Cavallo sisters, Bessie (19 yrs) and Jo (21 yrs), who paint glow-in-the-dark watch dials at the American Radium Factory.

The Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts received $40,000 to support the participation of emerging choreographers in Momentum: New Dance Works Festival in 2017.

Movement Research received $60,000 ($30,000 per year for two years) to support emerging New York City choreographers in the creation and development of new work through the Artist-In-Residence Program.

Rachelle Mozman, New York City, received $9,645 To support the production of Opaque Mirror, a 15-minute experimental film based on Mozman’s fantasies of the short time Paul Gauguin travelled to Panama.

Mu Performing Arts received $75,000 ($25,000 per year for three years) to support the development and production of new works by May Lee-Yang and Qui Nguyen.

Karĩ Mugo, Minnesota, received $5,000 to travel to Nairobi and South Africa to embark on a storytelling project exploring the experiences and memories of the children of Africa in the 21st century.

Nautilus Music-Theater, Saint Paul, Minnesota, received $40,000 over two years in support of two Composer-Librettist Studio and two years of Rough Cuts Commissioning projects for emerging artists.

New Dramatists received $84,000 ($42,000 per year for two years) to support the Playwrights Lab.

New York Theatre Workshop received $40,000 ($20,000 per year for two years) to support New York City-based emerging artists in New York Theatre Workshop’s Artist’s Workshop.

Northern Clay Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota, received $54,200 over two years in support of the Jerome Ceramic Artists Projects grant program.

Northern Lights.mn, Minneapolis, Minnesota, received $130,000 over two years to support Northern Lights.mn's Art(ists) On the Verge (AOV) Fellowship program in 2017 and 2018 for Minnesota-based emerging artists working at the intersection of art, technology, and digital culture.

Kevin Obsatz, Minnesota, received $25,000 to support Northside Showdown, a John Carpenter-inspired pulp thriller in the era of Black Lives Matter. Jaquan is a mild-mannered sporting goods salesman whose younger brother is abducted by rogue cops. He uncovers a ritualistic cult of human sacrifice and must face off against the sinister deputy police chief.

Linda May Han Oh, New York City, received $20,000 to focus on her work as a leader and composer, mixing and recording a number of new works with various ensembles; study Korean traditional music, Janggu drumming technique, Rumba/Cuban folk music, and Chinese traditional music/Shuo Chang; and compose music for a new collaborative film project with videographer Bena Otieno Wandei.

Andrea Pallaoro, New York City, received $30,000 in support of Monica, the intimate observation of a 52-year-old transgendered woman who returns to her Kansas hometown to take care of her dying mother, who is in the advanced stages of breast cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease, and whom Monica has not seen in over 35 years, since being kicked out of her own home as a teen.

Pangea World Theater, Minneapolis, Minnesota, received $40,000 over two years in support of Pangea World Theater's Alternate Visions Series for emerging playwrights of color to develop and produce new work in 2016-17 and 2017-18.

Patricia Park, New York City, received $5,000 to travel to Argentina to research a second novel, The “Chino” from Buenos Aires, which explores the ethnic Korean community in Argentina.

Jehra Patrick, Minnesota, received $1,500 to travel to New York City to meet with new media field leaders from Rhizome and the New Museum, New York Foundation for the Arts, Artsy.net, and ArtSpace.com, and attend Rhizome's annual Seven on Seven conference.
