Cultural Data Project received $9,000 to support membership for the Foundation and DataArts activities in Minnesota and the five boroughs of New York City.

Danspace Project received $69,000 ($34,500 per year for two years) to support commissions to emerging New York City and/or Minnesota based choreographers in 2016-17 and 2017-18.

Camille de Galbert, New York City, received $20,000 in support of Margot, which follows the inner journey of a young woman struggling to reconnect with reality as she delves through layers of her subconscious and key moments from her childhood taking a unique approach to the narrative form by twisting it around the finger of poetic surrealism.

Ram Devineni, New York City, received $5,000 to travel to Kolkata and Dehli, India to meet with organizations, artists, and writers to research the story, art, and concept for the next chapter of Priya's Shakti, an augmented reality mythological comic book and multimedia exhibition/film focused on sexual violence issues.

Dixon Place, New York City, received $60,000 over two years in support of emerging artists in the 2017 and 2018 Commissioning Program and Artist-in-Residence Program.

JULIANE DRESSNER was awarded $25,000 in support of the documentary PERSONAL STATEMENT. Enoch, Christine and Karoline dream of being the first in their families to go to college and are determined to bring their peers with them. As peer college counselors in struggling schools, they have taken it upon themselves to close the achievement gap, guiding their friends through the college process, even as they are applying themselves.

Ensemble Studio Theatre, New York City, $40,000 over two years in support of the Youngbloods Program in 2016-17 and 2017-18.

Mackenzie Epping, Minnesota, received $5,000 to travel to Berlin, Germany to walk and bicycle the 100-mile Berliner Mauerweg (Berlin Wall Trail) and ride the full length of all 24 city train lines in order to research, document, and reflect the impact of border structures on the movement of people, material which will inform a collection of lyric essays.

Eyebeam Atelier, New York City, received $30,000 over two years in support of emerging New York City artists’ participation in the residency program in 2017-18 and 2018-19.

FilmNorth (formerly Independent Filmmaker Project Minnesota) received $22,000 to support the Equipment Rental Program, free memberships and Professional Development Programs.

FilmNorth (formerly IFP Minnesota), Saint Paul, Minnesota, received $44,000 over two years to support 8 Professional Development scholarships and 10 free memberships for emerging Minnesota film and videomakers in 2017 and 2018.

FilmNorth (formerly IFP Minnesota), Saint Paul, Minnesota, received $70,000 over two years on behalf of the MNTV Consortium to support the broadcast of work by emerging Minnesota film and videomakers on MNTV in 2017 and 2018.

JIM FINN was awarded $25,000 in support of the experimental project The Drunkard's Lament, a 60- to 70-minute video that looks like a fictional episode of a Soviet television program made during the slow collapse of the communist system. The program will be made up of three parts: the narrator’s talking head with 80’s video effects, handmade 16mm film scenes created to look like damaged fragments of an early Soviet cinema Wuthering Heights film adaptation and additional video portraits of the British moors and miniatures that were especially made for the program to supplement the missing film footage.

T'ai Freedom Ford, New York City, received $5,000 to attend the Black Portraiture(s) III Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, and collaborate with South African photographer, Zanele Muholi.

Forecast Public Art, Saint Paul, Minnesota, received $80,000 over two years to support Project Grants and Research & Development Grants to emerging artists based in Minnesota in 2017 and 2018.

Michael Forstein, Minnesota, received $30,000 to support Days of Awe, a 90-minute feature narrative. Threatened with incarceration, a troubled, rebellious teen is subjected to experimental wilderness therapy where he is confronted by a zealous young guide convinced he can save anyone -- whether they want to be saved or not.

The Foundry Theatre received $28,000 to support the commissioning, creation, development, and production of new works by emerging theater creators.
