BAAD!/Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance, in partnership with Pepatian, received $37,000 ($18,500 per year for two years) to support Open Call for FY16 and FY17.

E.G. Bailey, Minnesota, received $15,000 to support Keon, a 25-minute narrative short. The film follows Keno and his brothers, young African Americans negotiating the demands of family, friends and dreams when they are confronted by two officers.

Jeff Bennett, Minnesota, received $5,000 to follow a path across the western United States in research for an anticipated character's journey.

Kim Brandt, New York City, received $5,000 to visit and research the works of land artists Nancy Holt, Robert Smithson, Michael Heizer and Walter De Maria. By experiencing in person these unique artistic approaches to human-land relationships, Brandt wants to deepen and broaden her choreographic explorations between the body and nature, generating somatic, experiential and intellectual research to support the creation of a new choreographic body of work related to these themes.

Bronx Museum of the Arts received $40,000 ($20,000 per year for two years) to support the 2016 and 2017 Artists in the Marketplace Program and the 2017 Biennial Exhibition for New York City-based emerging artists.

Brooklyn Arts Exchange received $44,000 ($22,000 per year for two years) to support the 2016-17 and 2017-18 Artist in Residence Program, providing six artists per year with stipends and 300 hours of free rehearsal space.

DAVID GARRETT BYARS was awarded $25,000 in support of the documentary No Man's Land. Bitter antagonism between right-wing militia and the federal government has boiled over into rebellion and bloodshed. No Man's Land follows this insurrection, from inception to demise, and the elements that made it possible.

The Camargo Foundation received $115,000 in support of its ongoing programs, activities, and related administrative costs in 2016.

Camera Club of New York received $36,000 ($18,000 per year for two years) to support four solo exhibitions by New York City-based emerging artists in the Workspace Residency Program.

Cave Canem Foundation received $55,000 ($11,000 per workshop over 2.5-years) to support New York City-based workshops for emerging poets, including a fall workshop in 2016 and spring and fall workshops in 2017 and 2018, including five 10-session workshops (30 program hours each) serving emerging adult African-American, Arab American, and poets of color living in New York City's five boroughs.

The Cedar Cultural Center received $76,000 ($38,000 per year for two years) to support the Commissions program for emerging Minnesota composers in 2016-17 and 2017-18.

The Center For Fiction received $85,000 ($42,500 per year for two years) to support the 2016 and 2017 NYC Emerging Writers Fellowship Program.

Jessica Chen, New York City, received $4,550 to travel to Taipei, Taiwan to research the intersections of various forms of traditional Chinese folk dances and how those traditional sensibilities inform contemporary and modern dance and movement quality.

Mengqian Chen, Minnesota, received $14,095 to support The Island, a 4-minute animated short inspired by American author Carson McCullers’ book The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter. The Island will use mixed media animation to tell a simple story about the struggling relationship of a one eyed giant and a bird.

The Chocolate Factory Theater received $64,000 ($32,000 per year for two years) to support the commissioning of emerging New York City-based choreographers.

Joshua Clausen, Minnesota, received $20,000 to compose new works; do a mentorship with a professional sound engineer to create professional mixes of several compositions as a means of learning how to do this himself; hire musicians and record new chamber works at Minnesota Public Radio's Maude Miller soundstage; and purchase software and hardware tools for recording, mixing and mastering.

Anji Suave Clubb, Minnesota, received $25,000 to support Nomad Meets the City, a 90-minute documentary feature. What happens when a traditional culture rapidly urbanizes? Through the lenses of individuals, this film will look at a society in flux as more and more Mongolian nomads leave behind their herds and struggle for a different life and opportunities in the city.

Coffee House Press, Minneapolis, Minnesota, received $46,000 over two years to support the publication of six books by emerging authors from New York City or Minnesota in 2017 and 2018.

Community of Literary Magazines and Presses received $92,000 to support the FACE OUT: Maximizing the Visibility of Emerging Writers Program for four emerging writer/publisher teams based in New York City.

Wendell Cooper, New York City, received $3,805 to deepen an understanding of Thai Yoga Massage for integration into movement research and artistic philosophy.
