While grants were originally designed to support one or two years of support specifically for programs and services benefitting early career artists, the Foundation at its Board meeting on March 29 decided to give all grantees the option of using the first year of funding for general operating support, if necessary.

The Jerome Foundation’s response to the coronavirus

Out of an abundance of caution around coronavirus (COVID-19), the Jerome Foundation has and will take steps to be available to our community.

Mike Albert, Leila Awadallah, Ram Devineni, ManSee Kong, Laura Ortman, Laimah Osman, and Tony Whitfield received month-long residencies at Camargo Foundation, a residential center offering programming in the Arts and Humanities in Cassis, France.

Five grants totaling $134,900 were authorized by the Jerome Board of Directors to fund film projects by Minnesota filmmakers.

12 grants totaling $345,100 were authorized by the Jerome Board of Directors to fund film projects by New York City filmmakers.

At its annual Meeting on June 2, 2019, the Jerome Foundation Members of the Corporation elected Nick Slade, judge advocate with the Minnesota National Guard, to its ranks as a new Member, and Rick Scott, VP of Finance and Vice President of Finance and Compliance, McKnight Foundation to the Jerome Foundation Board of Directors.

We are deeply saddened by the news that Robert Byrd, former Jerome Foundation Program Director and documentary filmmaker died Saturday, March 23, losing his three-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
